With no rudder and no tilting rotors, how does a DJI Mini fly forward or turn on the spot? Press the steps, or wait and the machine runs them by itself.×3

The big idea: a DJI Mini has no rudder. Two props spin clockwise and two counter-clockwise, in diagonal pairs, so their twists on the body cancel and it hovers still. To fly forward the back pair spins faster and it tips; to turn on the spot one diagonal pair speeds up. And it stays under 250 g, the commonly cited line below which recreational flyers in the US and EU need not register it.
